RoboBoat 2017 Photo Gallery
The AUVSI Foundation's RoboNation and the Office of Naval Research held the 2017 International RoboBoat Competition from June 20-25 at Reed Canal Park in South Daytona, FL. Nine university and high school student teams designed autonomous, robotic boats that navigated an obstacle course in a race against the clock. The boats replicated scaled-down tasks similar to those being developed for coastal surveillance, port security and other types of oceanographic operations. The following student teams participated:

Some boats carried quadcopters to potentially facilitate navigation. The Tecnológico de Monterrey team did successfully fly their quadcopter autonomously as well as manually, even winning a special award for being the only team to attempt that specific challenge.
