Utah Uncrewed Aircraft Traffic Incident Training - April 26-27
The Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), as part of its ongoing Every Day Counts initiative, along with the Utah Local Technical Assistance Program are offering an interactive workshop on Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS), to be held at the Dixie Convention Center, 1835 Convention Center Drive, St. George, UT 84790, April 26-27. The workshop is free of charge, but requires online advance registration to attend.
The Utah LTAP (Local Technical Assistance Program) and FHWA are presenting 12 hours of intensive instruction with live flight, hands-on interaction with UAS (drones) and mock scenarios for operation of UAS in Traffic Incident Management, Survey, and Construction scenarios. This training will instruct survey and public works crews how to better understand the importance of traffic control and safety preparedness prior to working around live traffic, and what to do when an incident occurs. The course will explore the proper techniques for setting up effective traffic control, mitigation techniques to ensure closure safety, and how to utilize UAS and other modern technologies to increase personal safety.

This strategic and timely workshop will benefit a wide range of participants including State, City, County and Tribal staff Emergency and incident management personnel, as well as field personnel—communications, operations, maintenance, construction, consultants, and contractors.
