This remote delivery, multi-modal system is designed to traverse remote areas that cannot be reached by any other means than an unmanned ground vehicle (UGV). It can extend its wheeled legs to navigate difficult terrain or climb stairs. The TIGER features 360-degree ultrasonic sensors, LED spot lights, ground-penetrating radar, Stereo vision cameras and GPS antenna plus WiFi & 2G/3G/4G. Hyundai has announced plans to commercialize the design over the next half decade. Story and photo courtesy of IEEE Spectrum and Hyundai.
